Stories of Thanks and Giving with Red Thread Playback Theatre

SATURDAY, November 20

12-1:30 pm MST (2pm EST, 11am PST, 7pm GMT)

(Registration Link Below)

Workshop 2:30-4pm MST

Join us for a celebration of gratitude and theatre. We ask that you pay what you felt 1.5 hours of our playback performance was worth. If you feel the need to pay before the show, there will be links to do so in your confirmation email.

If you find you love playback theatre as much as we do, join us for a FREE workshop following the event!

“Playback Theatre is an original form of story-based improvisational theatre that builds connection, dialogue, and change. Volunteers from the audience tell personal stories during a performance, then watch as trained actors and musicians create theatre on the spot.

While people tell their stories, listen to other’s stories and watch the theatre that is created, a “red thread” of common experience begins to weave through the performance, building and strengthening our connections to each other as a community. It enables audience members to see each other in a new, often more compassionate light, especially across differences of background, experience or values.

Created by Jonathan Fox in 1975, playback theatre is done in over 70 countries around the world. Participating in a playback performance joins us to a global community of people with different cultures and languages engaging in purposeful community and human building. In this time when the country and world seem divided, by the simple act of telling our stories and listening to others stories, playback theatre helps us to bridge that divide and find the “red thread” that joins us together.”

FREE to register then "Pay What It's Worth" after the show. We ask that you pay what you felt 1.5 hours of our playback performance was worth. If you feel the need to pay before the show, there will be links to do so in your confirmation email.

Registration closes one hour before the show, at 11 am MST on the day of the performance.

The Art of Celebration: Using Art and Writing to Celebrate Ourselves

Use crayons, markers, and colored pencils and writing to get in touch with your playful side as you celebrate your creativity.

About this event

Creativity Pie presents: The Art of Celebration

We often don’t think that our small accomplishments are worthy of celebrating. It seems easier to honor other people, forgetting to praise ourselves. In this class, we’ll play with crayons, markers, and/or colored pencils, and words to create a simple touchstone to inspire you to keep celebrating. You are worth it!

The Art of Celebration is one of three playful workshops Patrice and Marcia will be offering this summer: building community, traveling through time, space, and imagination. You’ll be guided to explore yourself using the tools of simple drawing, words, memory, and color. In each one, create souvenirs from your inner travels to take home and remind you of your discoveries. Each class is a stand-alone workshop– you need not attend all three to have a blast! Stay tuned for more!

You will receive a Zoom link approximately 30 minutes before class begins. Please check your spam/promotions folder.

A HEALING SERIES WITH SUZANNE ROUGE

Practicing The Divine Feminine: Finding Balance in Changing Times

How the Attributes of the Divine Feminine Can Help Us Find Balance In These Changing Times:

A series that explores philosophical and practical ways to apply aspects of feminine energy to the massive shifts happening in the world right now. How can we be more collaborative, open, and flexible? How can we seize the opportunities of this moment and support one another through the challenging and exciting changes occurring everywhere?

Workshop 1:

Collaboration: A Fresh Look at Darwinism

How can we build something more beautiful, supportive and better suited to the needs of people everywhere? What changes might occur if we rethink survival of the fittest and instead create systems to raise everyone up? A fresh look at the role of Collaboration and Cooperation instead of a Dog-Eat-Dog Competitive world.

You will receive a Zoom link approximately 30 minutes before class begins. Please check your spam/promotions folder.

Christmas Caroling: A Reimagined Zoom Performance of the Dickens Classic

Although we can’t perform together in person, we can still be dramatic around the holidays! Help us usher in the New Year with a zoom reading of A Christmas Carol. This is an opportunity to take on different roles, reimagine theater and giggle (perhaps awkwardly) through a story we know and love.
