Bill Murray Monday — “Lost in Translation”

It’s the first Monday of August, and you know what that means: Bill Murray Monday! Bill is back for a second time as Bob (last month we showed “What About Bob?”) but this time he’s in Tokyo.

In “Lost in Translation”, Bill Murray plays an American whiskey ad actor in Tokyo who meets a young, unemployed, married woman (Scarlett Johansson) whose husband is a photographer on assignment. Together they form a bond over their cultural alienation, sleeplessness, and lost hearts.

Common Sense Media says… “Parents need to know that Lost in Translation shows many aspects of night life in Tokyo, including drinking and smoking. Characters also go to a strip club (where women are topless and wearing barely there G-strings and giving lap dances), get chased out of a bar with a fake gun, smoke pot before performing karaoke, and one character has an affair (with nothing shown). There's a little bit of strong language...“
